Stress Modification

Our lives in the 21st Century are generally fast paced and hectic. Find time daily to stop and check in with yourself.

Even taking 10 seconds to clear the mind, close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths can relieve stress.

Here are more suggestions:

Practice yoga- not only will it reduce your stress level, it will help you meet the 30 minute daily exercise requirement, and improve your balance and


Get lost in a hobby several times a week- allow yourself some play time!

Learn meditation- there are many different practices ranging from silence, to repeating mantras, or using body movement.

Take a long hot bath or shower- for an extra dose of relaxation, add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil to the water (or on a washcloth in the shower)

Watch a funny movie- laughter is the best medicine, and has been shown to immediately relieve stress and improve the immune system
